Bridal designer Sanyukta walks the red carpet at Fashion Awards 2022

Bridal designer Sanyukta walks the red carpet at Fashion Awards 2022 in one of her gowns

Sustainable bridal designer Sanyukta Shrestha dazzled on the red carpet wearing her vegan black couture dress at the Royal Albert Hall for this year's Fashion Awards where celebrities from around the world attended on Monday.

The British Fashion Awards, one of the most anticipated events of the global fashion calendar, celebrates fashion at the intersection of culture and is a global entertainment platform for brands, creatives, designers, artists and tastemakers who come together to celebrate the industry. This year, the event brought supermodels, fashion designers and celebrity muses together to recognise excellence in the fashion industry. The star-studded red carpet was walked by Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino's Pier Paolo Piccioli, Rita Ora, Naomi Campbell, Winnie Harlow, Poppy Delevingne, Erin O'Connor, Ashley Graham, Rosie HW, Tilda Swinton, Maya Jama, and many more A-list celebrities.

Sanyukta tells us, "I felt extremely special to be invited to the Fashion Awards 2022. I am so grateful to the British Fashion Council and all the celebrities, who I met during the Fashion Award's red carpet, for filling me with so much warmth and joy. I felt very much welcomed and a sense of comradeship with inclusiveness."

The first, and only designer of Nepali origin to attend this world's magnificent event, the mother of two adds, "The most magical pinch-me moment was when the iconic fashion legend - designer Jean Paul Gaultier spent his precious moment talking to me with his warm welcoming tone. It was surreal."

Known as the 'Green Goddess', Sanyukta's dresses have been admired on red carpets at The Oscars, BAFTA and Festival De Cannes. For the British Fashion Awards, she chose to wear a structured custom-made Sanyukta Shrestha black sustainable gown with a pair of white gloves. Her red-carpet look consisted of a structured shoulder asymmetric 3D curved geometric corset gown with a side slit and an asymmetrical fluid train made from recycled vegan silk and bamboo meticulously hand-crafted in Nepal.

The Nepalese-born British designer was accompanied by her special friend Abi Kingsley-Parker to celebrate friendship and fashion. Abi looked radiated in a vibrant orange and hot pink Sanyukta Shrestha custom-made ethical cape ensemble with a pair of vegan silk palazzo trousers.
